When the world feels so loud the statement " this is my happy place don't fuck it up " couldn't be more true for me. My social battery doesn't have the longest life spend now days. When I was young it did, I had a friend or friends with me all the time but now days just the thought of that drains my battery.
Sometimes I do wish I could be my teenage people loving self again, but I don't. Does that makes sense? No , no it doesn't. But it's the most truthful thing for me. I can't handle having people in my home, in my yard in my bubble...... Don't get me wrong here I don't hate everyone I do have people in my life that I love and care so deeply for that it hurts and that is the reason I don't want people around, I don't have the compacty to care and look out for anymore people. My circle is full. I'm not great at peopling and I have to safe my battery for the relationships that mean the absolute most to me so that I have the energy for them. Maybe this makes sense to you or maybe you can not relate at all but if you know, you know.
Everytime I'm asked to a gathering I cringe because I do not want to go. But here's the biggest problem I'm a damn people pleaser on top of it all. So I have a hard time saying no to shit 🙈. Why do I have these 2 problem?!?! It makes my life pretty difficult. But I make it work and when I need to find a way to say no I do. I usually say that I would much rather come over another time and spend time with you vs be around a a bunch of people. I'm just not one for big gatherings. You'll notice I'm not one for knowing how to properly write either 😆.
Moral of the story is I don't invite people into my happy place to much and if I do it's for a good reason or I really enjoy your company. It's not to be rude it's to protect my peace.
